Directions
New Jersey Turnpike North or South:
Stay on Western Spur to Exit 15W to 280 West to Exit 8B, Prospect Avenue/Cedar Grove. Proceed through 5 lights. At the 6th light turn right onto Bloomfield Avenue. At 3rd light turn right onto South Mountain Avenue. Turn into the 2nd driveway on the left. Alternate Turnpike Exits: Turnpike North - Exit 16W Follow as below for Route 3 West. Turnpike South - Exit 11 to Follow as below for Garden State Parkway North.
Garden State Parkway North:
Take Exit 151, Watchung Avenue. Make a left at the light onto Watchung Avenue. Proceed on Watchung Avenue. After the railroad underpass, bear right, and follow Watchung until the light at North Mountain Avenue. Make a left at the light. Proceed on North Mountain Avenue until you cross Bloomfield Avenue. The Museum will be on your left.
Garden State Parkway South:
Take Exit 151, Watchung Avenue. Make a right at the light onto Watchung Avenue. Proceed on Watchung Avenue. After the railroad underpass, bear right, and follow Watchung until the second light at North Mountain Avenue. Make a left at the light. Proceed on North Mountain Avenue until you cross Bloomfield Avenue. The Museum will be on your left.
Route 280 East or West:
Take Exit 8B, Prospect Avenue/Cedar Grove. Proceed through 5 lights. At the 6th light turn right onto Bloomfield Avenue. At 3rd light turn right onto South Mountain Avenue. Turn into the 2nd driveway on the left.
Route 287 North or South:
Take 80 East to 280 East to Exit 8B, Prospect Avenue/Cedar Grove. Follow as above for Route 280.
Route I-78 East to I-287 North (Morristown):
Go approx. 20 miles to exit 41A to Route I-80 (Smith Rd., NYC). Take exit 47A to I-280 east (keep right). Follow 280 to exit 8B (Prospect Ave./Cedar Grove). At 6th traffic light turn right onto Bloomfield Avenue. At second traffic light turn right onto South Mountain Ave., second driveway on left is our parking area.
Route 3 East or West:
Take Grove Street Exit. Follow signs for Montclair. Follow Grove Street through 7 lights (approx. 4 miles). Turn right at the 8th light onto Bloomfield Avenue. Proceed approx. 2 miles. At Montclair Motors stay left and turn left at the 2nd light onto South Mountain Avenue. Turn into the 2nd driveway on the left.
FROM NEW YORK CITY:
George Washington Bridge/Route 80 West:
Take Garden State Parkway South, Exit 148 Bloomfield Avenue. Follow as above.
Lincoln Tunnel:
Take Route 3 West. Follow Route 3 to Grove Street exit. Follow as above.
Holland Tunnel:
Bear left, following signs to Routes 1 & 9. After underpass take 2nd exit. Follow signs to Newark. Bear right for Route 280 West and take 280 West to Exit 8B, Prospect Avenue/Cedar Grove. Follow as above from 280 West.
BY TRAIN FROM MANHATTAN:
From 34th Street Penn Station, take New Jersey Transit’s Midtown Direct train on the Montclair-Boonton line to Bay Street in Montclair. Click here for schedule. Walk one block south, and turn right on Bloomfield Avenue. The Museum is located approximately one mile from the Bay Street Station at Bloomfield and South Mountain Avenues. NOTE: As of Nov. 8, 2009, NJ Transit will run weekend train service for Montclair, to Bay Street Station, transferring at Newark. Weekend service will be bi-hourly. Please check schedule above.
BY BUS FROM MANHATTAN:
