Personal Growth Through Art Making II
Personal Growth Through Art Making II
Explore art-making with the purpose of personal growth. Whether it’s joy, relief, liberation, or grief, pain, and frustration, we’ll take steps to discover the themes and symbols that express/capture a personal experience and then work through steps to turn our emotions into expressible visual art. We’ll start with specific journaling/sketchbook prompts to explore our inner selves. After the sketching phase, we’ll hone our pieces, paying attention to composition, color, image, and text. Then we’ll find the most satisfying materials to complete our projects. Mixed media, collage, watercolor, acrylic, ink, pastel, embroidery, and gel-plate printing are all possible. This class will have a limited number of participants to allow for more individual attention.
All skill levels are welcome. No prior art or journaling experience needed. This is a course with all new prompts, suitable for both newcomers as well as participants who have already completed the first Personal Growth Through Art Making course.
