Homeschool Day: Celebrate Earth Day!
Inspired by the work of George Inness and Federico Uribe, students will create a beautiful garden using recycled materials, and talk about things they can do at home to protect our planet.
Join us for a virtual tour of Montclair Art Museum, right from your home, followed by an art-making studio workshop led by our talented teaching artists over the Zoom platform. Our participatory tours encourage interaction, as students are guided to make observations while looking closely at artwork on view in current exhibitions using 3D imagery of museum galleries. Students will then have fun making their own art inspired by the works on view in a live lesson guided by a MAM art educator. Meet up with friends in our virtual classroom, or make new friends, and enjoy being creative together!
This program is geared towards children ages 5-12 with their adult companions, but all ages are welcome. Families will need to have a computer, tablet or phone with internet and access to Zoom, and will receive an email confirmation with the event link after registration. Participants will also need to provide their own materials.
Registration includes free admission to visit the Museum in-person following the lesson, at your own convenience.
