MAM After Hours: Art Meets Jazz

5:30 pm
9:00 pm

Art Meets Jazz is a jazz performance series held in partnership between the Montclair Art Museum and the African American Cultural Committee (AACC). This annual series delivers an organic program, highlighting the talent of local jazz musicians and often includes other artistic elements such as dance, spoken word, and exhibition.

This year’s event will feature jazz vocalist Carla Cook and her trio. Carla will perform a selection of original compositions, as well as renditions of classic songs in the genre. Cook has an improvisational style that is steeped in the swing tradition yet eclectic and brimming with fresh interpretations, earning her a Grammy nomination for her debut album It’s All About Love.

We are thrilled to collaborate with the Montclair Jazz Festival for this year's Art Meets Jazz. Please join us for the pre-performance cocktail reception to enjoy snacks of wine and cheese while listening to the talents of Jazz House Kids. If you're interested in attending the remainder of this year's festival, click here.

You can find more information about Carla Cook here, and we hope you’ll learn more about our Art Meets Jazz partners, the AACC!

Cocktail Hour 5:30 - 6:45 p.m.

Performance begins at 7 p.m.
