Intermediate/ Advanced Wheel Throwing & Hand Building

This class is for students that have mastered centering and trimming and/or above basic hand-building skills.  We will explore combining elements to create functional and non-functional pieces. Students will not need a wheel as there will be hand-building and wheel demonstrations to achieve a similar piece. Students will need to have a place to store their work during the length of the class.  

This class is online with live instruction. Students will need to have a computer, tablet, or phone with internet and access to Zoom.  Students will also need to have class specific art materials that are listed here.

Steve Jaskowak

Stephen Jaskowak has been working with clay, in one capacity or another, on a daily basis since 1983. He started out as a functional potter working in potteries throughout Wisconsin. He received his B.A. in 1996 from University of Wisconsin– Parkside and his M.F.A. from Miami University in 1998. Steve has been the ceramic studio manager at MAM since 2012, and is currently an adjunct professor at Kean University. Steve likes listening to the Grateful Dead and has been to over 437 of their concerts.
