Classes, Yard School of Art, Digital Photography, Teen (age 12–15), Deborah Guzmán Meyer

Session 2 Digital Photography

This step-by-step digital photography class will take you on a series of fun exercises to learn how to get the most out of your camera by taking it off “automatic.” Train the eye to “see” as you learn traditional photography techniques, re-shoot and re-work photos, and master compositional rules. Experiment with digital photography software to make minor adjustments in balance, lighting, and contrast. Students may use any type of digital camera or a phone camera.

Please see supply list here.

All summer 2020 classes will take place online with live instruction on the Zoom platform. You will need a phone, tablet, or computer with internet access. Class sizes are limited to ensure lots of one-on-one interaction with the instructors, who are all professional artists.

Deborah Guzmán Meyer

Deborah Guzmán Meyer is a Montclair-based artist by way of Chicago, NYC, and the Dominican Republic. She has a hybrid name because she's Latina but married a gringo. She earned her BA at Pace University and her MFA at Columbia College in Chicago. Her work has been featured in exhibitions and collected throughout the country, including Miami, Chicago, New York, and France. She's been an art instructor at the Montclair Art Museum since 2011. She likes to think of herself as a modern renaissance woman, curious about all forms of art and willing and able to try her hand at it. Art is why she gets up in the morning.
