Sharon Pitts
Listed in Who’s Who in American Art, Sharon Pitts has been painting in watercolor since 1980, and has been teaching watercolor since 1995. She takes her ideas from themes based in nature such as flowers, trees, nests and landscapes. Other themes include cowboy boots, kimonos and Hawaiian shirts. She combines interplay between representation and abstraction with unexpected color combinations and compositions, working with the natural flow of watercolor. Ms. Pitts has a B.A. in Plastic and Graphic Arts from the University of Illinois in Chicago and studied at The Barnes Foundation. Her work is in many private and corporate collections and can be seen at sharonpitts.com.
She loves to read and loves to travel. You can find her teaching watercolor workshops in the U.S., Canada, Provence, Croatia, Paris, Tuscany and Venice.
