Montclair Art Museum launches MAM Conversations Series

[June 5, 2020, Montclair, NJ] – Montclair Art Museum (MAM) is a cultural and community center where people connect through art, education, and dialogue in a variety of formats. Continuing in this tradition, the Museum is excited to further nurture that connection with an engaging new series.

The annual Julia Norton Babson Memorial Lecture is transforming into the MAM Conversations presented by the Babson Lecture Series, funded, in part, by a generous perpetual gift from the Julia Norton Babson Memorial Fund.

MAM Conversations will give you the unique opportunity to virtually engage with contemporary artists, see their studio spaces, and learn more about their work through a Q & A session  -- all from the comfort of your home.

“I’m always excited when I get the chance to visit an artist in their own space,” said Assistant Curator Alison Van Denend, who added, “An artist’s studio can provide unique insight into their personality, process, and what inspires them. We’re thrilled to be able to share these glimpses inside the artist’s studio with the members and friends of MAM.”

Ira Wagner, MAM’s Interim Director, feels that this is an exciting addition to Virtual MAM. “The MAM Conversations series offers our members and friends around the world the opportunity to engage live with contemporary artists across a range of backgrounds and media. We are grateful to the Julia Norton Babson Memorial Fund for the support to make this happen.”
