About Emily Ladau

Emily Ladau is a disability rights activist, writer, and communications and cultural access consultant. Her advocacy began at age 10, when she appeared on Sesame Street to share her experience living with a physical disability.
Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, CNN, Vice, and HuffPost, and she has spoken to audiences ranging from the U.S. Department of Education to the United Nations. She is the author of Demystifying Disability, published by Ten Speed Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
This event is also a homecoming of sorts for Emily, who celebrated her wedding at the Montclair Art Museum. She’ll return to MAM on her wedding anniversary to celebrate the newly expanded edition of Demystifying Disability.
