Action Triptychs with Monica Hill

FREE with museum admission and for members, with advance registration required.

Join us each Sunday for a fun family art-making activity inspired by our current exhibitions. Explore materials, learn new techniques, and meet other community members while enjoying creative time with your family. Each week features a different project designed by MAM Teaching Artists to spark the imagination and encourage conversation in response to artworks on view in museum galleries.

Inspired by the exhibition, Century: 100 Years of Black Art at MAM, families will learn how to create figures in motion using a combination of texture rubbings, collage, and monoprints to create unique collaged triptychs

Monica Hill

Monica Hill is an art educator who holds a BFA from Syracuse University with a MA in art education from Montclair State University. She has devoted her professional life to teaching art to children. Over the past ten years, she has been an instructor for MAM SummerART, often at Van Vleck. She encourages her students to draw from personal experiences and preferences and incorporate observations from the world around them. In all of her classes, she hopes to offer a relaxed setting in which students acquire the confidence to experiment, try new techniques, and grow as artists. Monica's favorite mediums in her own work include watercolor, mono printmaking, and ceramics.
