Tyler Chan: Montclair Snap Memories

The Montclair Art Museum is excited to present a solo exhibition for a talented young photographer, Tyler Chan. Chan, now studying photography in college in the Netherlands, created the body of work that will be exhibited while being a student at Montclair High School. This exhibition presents a series of intimate photographs that document the artist's life as a Chinese American high school student in Montclair. The work explores the complexities of adolescence through the lens of a bicultural experience, presenting a vivid and evocative visual diary that reflects both the universal struggles and the unique challenges of racial diversity and division, even in a community thought to be tolerant like Montclair.
