Advanced Wheel Throwing

This course is designed for the advanced potter with a desire to expand their wheel-thrown pottery techniques and forms. During this class, we will combine wheel-thrown parts to create original pottery. Forms will be thrown and altered utilizing additive and subtractive techniques to create a variety of endless shapes. Darting, pleating, folding, faceting, as well as pulling handles and making spouts! Just because it's made on a wheel doesn't mean it has to be round.  

Each student receives 25 lbs of clay for use during class. Additional clay can be purchased as needed.  

*Basic potter materials will be provided. Students will receive a list of specialized tools they may want to bring to class before the first day. 

Prerequisite: Participants must have taken Beginner/Intermediate Pottery Wheel OR have significant pottery wheel experience prior to registering for this class. Pre-approval by the instructor is required to register.
