Print Party! Kids Printmaking
Print Party! Kids Printmaking
Your child will explore the endless possibilities of printmaking as a medium for self-expression! Learn a variety of techniques such as monoprinting, linoleum block carving, silkscreen, and collagraph printing. This medium is based on using ink to transfer a design from a matrix to paper or fabric. In this class, students will experiment with found objects, learn to use a printing press, and even design a t-shirt! Students will draw inspiration from MAM's new exhibition, WHAT, ME WORRY? THE ART AND HUMOR OF MAD MAGAZINE, where they imagine new ways of printmaking and the bold, graphic imagery of MAD artists. Come join the party and create one-of-a-kind works of art!

Kristian Battell
Kristian Battell is an artist working and living in northern New Jersey, having recently completed her Masters of Fine Art at the School of Visual Arts in New York, NY. She always considered herself more of a traditional printmaker, having a BFA in Printmaking and Art of the Book from Purchase College, but the pandemic has shifted her practice to sculpture and installation. These sculptures focus on climate change and upcycling the materials that surround her in her everyday life. She loves bringing this practice to a wider audience, especially by teaching kids about our impact on the environment and the change we can make through art.
