SummerART: Studio Art Camp Session 2
Our in-person Studio Art Camp encourages experimentation, creative thinking, and skill development in a safe, fun, supportive, and socially engaging environment with other creative kids. Campers are divided into age-specific groups led by our professional Teaching Artists, with limited enrollment to increase personalized attention. Classes take place in our spacious studios and include creative time on the Museum grounds. Each session is inspired by a different theme with exciting new projects providing age-appropriate challenges for campers to explore a variety of mediums and techniques in drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and mixed media. Supervised lunch and recess take place outside with organized games and activities. Afternoons focus on specialized instruction in a different art form, such as comic art or printmaking, so campers can sharpen medium-specific skills and develop their own unique voice for creative self-expression.
Session 2 Theme: Eco-Artists
Grab your paint pallette—our planet needs you! In this green-powered camp, kids will transform recycled, natural, and sustainably sourced materials into works of art! From eco-dye experiments to upcycled sculpture, learn about ecosystems, conservation, and new creative ways to reduce waste through unique, meaningful projects. Create boldly, care deeply, and become an Earth Hero!
Afternoon Focus:
Ages 6-7: Wearable Art: Experience using a wide variety of materials like fabric, wire, and thread to create one-of-a-kind wearable artwork such as jewelry, headwear, bags, and more!
Ages 8-9: Sculpture: Learn fundamental sculpture techniques to create 3-dimensional forms in space using a variety of materials and methods.
Ages 10-12: Printmaking: Explore the endless possibilities of printmaking, learning techniques such as silkscreen, collagraph, relief printing, monoprint, and stenciling.
