SummerART: Studio Art Camp Session 1

9:00 am
3:00 pm
no camp on Tuesday, July 4

Our in-person Studio Art Camp encourages experimentation, creative thinking, and skill development in a safe, fun, supportive, and socially engaging environment with other creative kids. Campers are grouped in age-specific groups led by our professional Teaching Artists, with limited enrollment to increase personalized attention. Classes will take place in our spacious studios and outdoors in tented classrooms on the Museum grounds.

Each session is inspired by a different theme with exciting new projects providing age-appropriate challenges for campers to explore a variety of mediums and techniques in drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and mixed media. Supervised lunch and recess take place outside with organized games and activities.

Session 1 Theme: Out Of This World

Free your imagination from gravity and blast off on an intergalactic adventure! Join us on an expedition to discover the marvels of outer space and the stars above while experimenting with an array of materials and techniques. Create new worlds of your own using upcycled materials to help save planet Earth while drawing inspiration from the vastness of the universe. The sky’s the limit in this cosmic camp where kids will learn to let their imaginations soar!

Campers in Studio Art Camp will enjoy specialized instruction by teachers with expertise in specific art forms in the afternoons. Each session features a different Afternoon Focus for each age level.

Campers explore the endless possibilities of printmaking as a medium for self-expression, learning techniques such as silkscreen, collagraph, relief printing, monoprint, and stenciling.
